Are you ready to RISE?

RISE Institute for Compounding awards scholarships to support pharmacy students pursuing education and training in compounding pharmacy beyond their required pharmacy school curriculum.  Scholarships are intended to increase access to high-quality learning opportunities that strengthen compounding practice, patient care, and the future of the profession.

Scholarships are competitive and discretionary. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding. All awards are made under an objective, nondiscriminatory selection process at the sole discretion of RISE Institute for Compounding.

RISE scholarships support current PharmD students who want to pursue compounding education beyond their required pharmacy school curriculum.

• Current PharmD student — Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
• Beyond required coursework — The program must be in addition to, and not required by applicant’s college or university.
• Sterile or non-sterile compounding — Students may apply for education or training in either area, provided the program meets RISE Institute for Compounding criteria.
• Eligible programs — All programs must occur during outlined timeframe. A list of pre-approved programs is provided below but is not exhaustive, and students are encouraged to submit other programs that meet RISE’s mission and scholarship focus.
• Mission-aligned learning — The opportunity should strengthen compounding knowledge, practice, and patient care.
• Employees, board members, key donors of RISE, and their immediate family members are generally not eligible to apply. Any exception requires independent Board review and documentation.

If selected, recipients receive an award based on available funding and the cost of the approved education or training program. The standard maximum award is up to $2,000 per recipient per year. Items eligible for reimbursement are limited to the following:

• Program Fees — Paid directly to the approved program provider.
• Airfare — Reimbursable up to $500 when the program requires travel outside your city of residence.
• Lodging — Reimbursable up to $400 ($200 per night, maximum 2 nights).
• Incidentals — Optional one-time $100 stipend for applicants attending in-person programs.

RISE Tip
You do not need to be registered for your program before applying.

Programs must begin between 11/1/26 and 2/28/27 to be eligible Fall 2026 award cycle. Another cycle will open for future programs beyond 2/28/2027 in January 2027.

Travel note
Airline and Lodging reimbursement applies only if the approved program requires you to travel outside your city of residence. If the program is in your city of residence, RISE will cover program fees only.

RISE supports independent educational opportunities that expand your compounding knowledge beyond what is offered through your PharmD program. Eligible opportunities may include courses, workshops, labs, seminars, conferences, and hands-on training.

We review programs individually. If it aligns with our mission, please apply. We will review the program and respond if it meets program eligibility. Please make sure the program has direct relevance to compounding, is offered in addition to your standard college curriculum, has qualified instructors, and has clear costs, requirements and outcomes.

Completion note

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically by the stated deadline.

Scholarship recipients are selected through a competitive review process conducted by the RISE Scholarship Committee.

• Alignment of the requested training with compounding pharmacy and RISE’s mission
• Commitment to learning and professional growth
• Leadership potential, service, or engagement
• Strength and clarity of the personal statement

Decision note

Not all applicants will be selected. All applicants agree to accept the scholarship decision as final.

1. Applications Open — Thursday, August 20, 2026
2. Apply By — Tuesday, September 15, 2026 OR when RISE receives 50 completed applications
3. Applications Reviewed — Within 30 days of the deadline
4. Recipients Notified — Within 45 days of the deadline
5. Courses Start Date – Between 11/1/26 and 2/28/27
6. Receipts Submitted – Within 30 days of course completion
7. Reimbursement – Within 30-45 days of complete receipt submission
